How to avoid burnout so you can sparkle this Christmas
How to sleep well, plan meals, set health goals for 2025, book a FREE health review with me
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! However, it’s easy to become exhausted if your calendar is full of social events and school events, you need to plan Christmas dinner, you’ve got gifts to buy, and your to-do list may be getting longer by the day. It’s important to balance festive spirit with self-care to avoid burnout. Here are some tips to help you enjoy the holidays and avoid exhaustion over the festive period.
How to sleep well
If you follow me on social media, you may have seen that my first article, “How to get a good night’s sleep during menopause,” was published on Nutritionist Resource last week. Nutritionist Resource is one of the UK’s leading nutrition support websites for verified nutrition professionals.
Whether you’re going through menopause or not, many of the strategies I discuss for a better night’s sleep apply to anyone. With your busy December schedule, getting enough sleep is vital so you can enjoy the festivities and avoid collapsing into a heap by Christmas Day!
In the article I discuss the significance of exposing yourself to morning light, eating breakfast at the same time every day and how your gut microbiome impacts your sleep. I also discuss dietary recommendations for a better night’s sleep, including when you should drink your last coffee, and guidance for snacking, protein and magnesium.
You can read full the article here.
Plan your meals
I always recommend my clients plan their meals in advance. Planning meals doesn't just take away the headache of what to buy when you’re in the supermarket, it gives you the chance to plan nutritionally balanced meals that will keep you energised throughout December.
If you need some help with meal planning, then I can help you. I offer a personalised meal planning service, and can create your meal plans tailored to your dietary preferences and the time you have available to prepare and cook.
